Their client list is a who’s who with big names like; Universal Kids, Mattel, Samsung Kids and Disney among others. And guess what? They sing too! Here’s more from Cassie and Sabrina!
Hi, Cassie and Sabrina! Thanks for this! We are fascinated by the world of voiceover. We love it when we get a chance to talk to voiceover artists because we always learn something new about the industry. No doubt this is our first time interviewing two younger artists from the medium who are also sisters! We love firsts. Yea! A little background information first. Where are you from?
Thank you for having us! We are originally from Tampa, Florida, and then moved to Orlando, Florida in 2019. We definitely love being near all the theme parks since we are huge roller-coaster & Disney fans!
Same! What came first voiceover or singing? How did you break into both?
Well, we’ve been singing and reading books aloud ever since we were little. But professionally we did voiceover first, followed by singing once our clients learned we could sing in character, and pick up music very quickly. In order to break into voiceover, we did a lot of training with top coaches, produced demos, and then auditioned auditioned auditioned! We continue to take coaching and training in both voiceover and singing today in order to keep improving.
That’s so key to always keep working to improve whatever it is that you do. What do you love about voiceover? What have been some of the highlights of your career so far?
Sabrina ~ I love bringing a character to life and being able to add your own personality to the animation. It is also really cool when fans and friends recognize my voice from a show or a commercial!
Sabrina Highlights:
- Voice of Mila for 5+ years and 300+ episodes in My Magic Pet Morphle with over 5 Billion views and 8 Million YouTube subscribers. This animated preschool show is also on most major streaming platforms like Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV+, and Amazon Prime.
- Youngest ever SOVAS-nominee for “Outstanding Voiceover Body of Work” (along with my sis!) and Best Voiceover for “Outstanding Commercial Demo”.
- More favorite clients include: Nick Jr, Disney, PBS Kids, and Sesame.
Cassie ~ Hearing yourself on TV is surreal and never gets old! It’s really fun to hear my voice singing & talking in a toy too. And being in the recording booth meeting clients from all over the world is a blast.
Cassie Highlights:
- Being the voice of Kid Cassandra in Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure on Disney Channel. Not only did the character share my name, but it was the younger version of my favorite character, Cassandra, on the series voiced by my favorite singer Eden Espinosa!
- Winning a SOVAS Award (along with VO friend Everett Sundholm) for “Outstanding Toy Character” for the “Rockit & Glow” Fisher-Price toy (again, super cool that my character shared my name!) and being nominated for our Body of Work (along with my sis!)
- More favorite clients include: Nickelodeon, LEGO, Disney Junior, and ZURU Toys.
What advice would you give to someone your age who is trying to get into the VO business?
Make sure voiceover is something you really want to do, something that you think is fun because it does take a lot of time, dedication, and hard work! The best way to start out is to take an introductory class or workshop with a coach that specializes in working with kids or teens, and see how you like it. Then practice practice practice!
Love love love your dedication to your craft. What are your longer-term goals/thoughts for the future?
Well, I don’t think there will ever be a time in our lives when we don’t want to do voiceover! We have some big creative aspirations for the future too. We are currently developing our own animated musical adventure – it’s a pretty epic story! We’ve been doing a lot of writing, character sketching, storyboarding, and even composing original lyrics and music. We’ve had some really amazing clients and creative mentors over the years who have invited us to peek behind-the-scenes and learn about the entire pitch and animation process, which has really inspired us to become storytellers and content creators.
The world is on semi-pause right now. But if you have any projects coming up that you would like to share please do!
Yes! We are very fortunate to have a Professional Home Recording Studio so we have been able to continue working on fun voiceover projects throughout our safe-at-home period. Some of our recently released & upcoming voiceover projects include ~
- A new animated musical series called OUTLANDish available on Kidoodle, Kidomi, and Ameba kids’ platforms.
- A new podcast called The Weirdness by Gen-Z Media on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
- A brand new TikTok, IG, and YouTube campaign for Mini Brands Official (the one with the adorable fast-talking hamster!)
- Ongoing episodes of My Magic Pet Morphle.
- And we are both working on 2 new animated series to launch in 2021. We can’t wait to share more news about those series when we can! They are both very unique.
