We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassie & Sabrina Glow and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cassie & Sabrina, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
In the Voiceover industry, your name is your brand, so we are lucky that our last name, “Glow”, is so memorable! [Side note, our last name was how we originally and accidentally got started in the entertainment business. When we were little, we were holding hands and swinging our arms while singing “G-L-O-W, G-L-O-W, G-L-O-W, we-are-the-Glow-Girls!” in dance class. A talent manager happened to see us and encouraged our parents to consider the entertainment industry which later led us to exploring Voiceover.]

Also, being an Award-Winning Sister Voiceover Team is unique and adds to the success of our brand. We love being known as “the Glow Girls” in the Voiceover industry. We sometimes joke that someday we’ll know we’ve “made it big” when our news, images, and accomplishments rank higher in a Google search than the other very famous Glow Girls, the “Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling”! Ha! #GOALS

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We are extremely proud to both be winners of the prestigious Voice Arts® Awards for our Voiceover & Singing work. It is huge honor to be recognized by the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences. Cassie won for “Outstanding Toy Character – Best Voiceover” in 2019 and Sabrina won for “Outstanding Voice Assisted Device – AI – Best Voiceover” in 2020. I think we are the youngest winners to date, and I think the only Sister team too!

However, getting to this point in our careers wasn’t easy. The Voiceover industry is extremely competitive and requires dedication, a lot of time, and practice. With persistence and hard work, we have earned exciting voiceover bookings with clients like Disney, Nickelodeon, Morphle TV, Fisher Price, Sesame and more. We have submitted thousands of auditions over the years – you hear “no” a lot more than you hear “yes” in this business. But if you have found something you are passionate about, you must keep trying. The biggest lesson we have learned from the Voiceover industry is to never give up on pursuing your goals.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of our absolute favorite local spots is Porto’s Bakery & Cafe on Magnolia Blvd in Burbank. It is located near many of the popular Animation Studios and Recording Studios. Sitting outside chatting, meeting up with friends, people-watching, and enjoying the incredible food and treats from Porto’s became a favorite post Voiceover recording session routine!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Our biggest shoutout undeniably goes to our parents who have always supported, encouraged, and invested in our Voiceover career from the time we were really young – with extra recognition to our Mom who directs, records, edits and engineers our Voiceover auditions and bookings, and handles all of the Glow Girls’ brand marketing and social media. Our Dad is an excellent “hype man” too – he’s always wearing #GlowGirls gear and sharing our news and work!

We also want to give a huge shoutout to the amazing Voiceover Coaches and Directors who have offered advice, mentoring, and expertise during our careers like Mary Lynn Wissner, Ned Lott, Sara Sherman, Ezra Weisz, J. Michael Collins, and our Singing Coach, Melanie Galiardo.

Thank you!!
