While Central Florida might not be New York or Los Angeles, two sisters from Lake Nona are making it big in the world of voiceover acting. The Glow Girls, Cassie and Sabrina Glow, have booked more than 500 voiceovers in their six-year career — and neither is old enough to drive.
“Usually when people think of voiceover, they think of New York or L.A., but having a professional home recording studio here has let us work with clients all over the world,” said 14-year-old Cassie. “Being in Central Florida has kind of pushed us to be even better and to break through by improving ourselves and becoming better voice actresses.”
Living in the region has also provided an artistic education — they both virtually attend Osceola County School for the Arts — and inspiration.
“The biggest thing about growing up in Central Florida, I think it really contributed to our imagination and creativity because our childhood was filled with trips to Disney World and cartoons,” said 12-year-old Sabrina. “We really developed an appreciation and love of animation, so that really inspired us.”
Their mom, Susan, said residing in the Lake Nona area has grounded her daughters.
“It hasn’t been the strict focus on entertainment or the limelight or fame … ” Susan said. “This is really a passion of theirs that grew out of their childhood and countless, countless trips to Disney.”
Their careers began at a dance class. A talent manager witnessed the girls reciting a silly chant their parents taught them to remember how to spell their last name and was impressed with the girls’ personalities. The agent exchanged information with the Glow parents, encouraging them to pursue acting with their daughters.
“We ended up getting an agent and booking a Disney commercial for Fantasyland,” Sabrina said. “We did some fun commercials and modeling on camera, but as soon as we learned that voiceover was a thing, we knew that was what we wanted to do.”
At 8 years old, Cassie booked her first voiceover job, a commercial for an Italian company’s safety bracelets. Sabrina, then 6, landed her first gig voicing Miffy the Bunny.
“It was a toy with a British accent, which I learned from watching ‘Mary Poppins’ and ‘Peter Pan’ too many times,” she said with a giggle.
The sisters have always had that creative spark, according to Sabrina. The two watched many cartoons growing up, enjoyed singing and attended musical theater and dance classes.
“We watch a lot of cartoons and movies in this house,” Susan said.
Another thing that helped prepare the girls for this career: They’ve always enjoyed reading aloud, especially “Elephant and Piggie” books.
“We’ve always loved doing silly voices and acting out stories,” Cassie said. “I think that is what inspired us to continue that love of acting and storytelling.”
In the Sunshine State, they’ve worked with the Salvador Dalí Museum, ZooTampa at Lowry Park and Visit Florida. Sabrina did a promo for Cirque du Soleil, when La Nouba was still at Disney Springs, as well as a commercial for Disney on Ice, which toured in Orlando.
The Glow Girls have done voiceover work for Disney, Nickelodeon, PBS Kids, Fisher-Price, Amazon, Hallmark, Netflix and Spotify.
But the duo has also worked for larger campaigns, with clients such as Disney, Nickelodeon, PBS Kids, Fisher-Price, Amazon, Hallmark, Netflix and Spotify.
“We’ve worked with clients all over the world … but some of our favorites still do end up being pretty close to us,” said Cassie. Two of her favorites were voicing young Cassandra on Disney’s
“Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventures” as well as working with Fisher-Price on the singing and talking Rockit and Glow toy.
“It was extra special because the character was kid Cass, so she kind of shared my name,” she said. “The toy also kind of shared my name: Rockit and Glow, and I was Glow. We actually went on to win a Voice Arts Award from the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences, so I’m pretty proud of it.”
But it isn’t a requirement for Cassie’s projects to share her name.
“Cassie will do voiceover jobs that don’t have her name in it,” Susan quipped.
For Sabrina, one of her favorite roles was on Nick Jr. show “Becca’s Bunch.”

“I got to voice a sassy badger named Beatrice, so it was really fun to play the frenemy/villain character because it was so unlike me,” Sabrina said.
“Thank you for clarifying … that you are not a villain,” Susan said.
When preparing for a new role, the siblings do their homework.
“We usually meet with the client, get to know them, then we read and review all of their material and samples that they give us,” Sabrina said. “We research the product or brand online, so we get a good idea of what it’s all about, and if it’s animation, we watch the cartoon series or view test animation.” Once they receive a script, Cassie said they review and practice, but they don’t memorize it. “We are careful not to commit it to memory because we have to be open to take direction and sometimes come up with creative ideas of our own,” she said.
The Glow Girls have a few projects in the works, including campaigns for ZURU toys and Fisher-Price, an animation guest role for a comedy network, a lead part on Amazon Prime animated musical series “Outlandish” and an upcoming animation project for a major network. “Whatever we do,” Cassie said, “we have to be creative.”
