Cassie Glow, Professional Voiceover and Singing Artist, Orlando FL
As our communities continue to struggle, women of all ages find their lives becoming more complicated as they
balance responsibilities between home, work, family and school. Cassie Glow, Professional Voiceover and Singing
Artist and Full-time Student decided to make headway during these uncertain times by using her voice, literally,
to give back to her community.
“My childhood was filled with storybooks, make-believe, dress-up, music, games, messy art projects, and family
adventures. Growing up in Florida, our family created a lot of memories and celebrated many special occasions
with visits to The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Fast forward to now – I’m pretty content teenager with
a close family, a nice home, and a great school.
When COVID hit, our family strictly adhered to safe-at-home orders. Like so many, we adjusted to new living-
working-schooling arrangements. In addition to being a full-time student, I am also a Professional Voice Actor,
and have been for almost seven years. Along with my sister Sabrina, we have a successful business, Glow Girls
Kid Voiceover, with a professional recording studio in our home. We are very lucky to have the ability to
continue recording voiceover from the safety of our home even during these times.
However, the longer the pandemic drew on, the more I became aware of how COVID was impacting others not
as fortunate, especially right in our community. The domino effect of lockdown orders, travel bans, reduced
tourism, theme park attendance caps, furloughs, and employee layoffs had a significant economic impact on
Central Florida. Orlando will always be a beloved place to me that sparked my imagination and solidified my love
for voiceover. I wanted to find a way to help the very community that had been the source of so much joy during
my life.
I learned about a charitable organization called Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida that offers hope
and fights hunger in the community. Along with my sister, we decided to donate our company’s first voiceover
booking of every month to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. We have pledged a minimum of 12,000
meals in 2021. In addition, we have also offered our voiceover services to the organization’s marketing
department, and plan to volunteer in person once a vaccine becomes more widely available.
For me, the silver lining of the national lockdown measures was a renewed appreciation for our family, health
and the ability to continue doing what I love, voiceover, from the safety of my home. I’m grateful to keep
working even during these times. And more importantly, find a way to use my voice, literally, to give back.”
